Terms of Use
Last updated October 25, 2026.
These terms apply to your use of "Everyday law New York City edition, a product of Everyday Reason LLC" (the "site"), including its pages, downloads, API, and MCP endpoint. "We" and "us" mean Everyday Reason LLC, Everyday Reason LLC, 418 Broadway, Suite N, Albany, NY 12207. Email: info@everydayreason.com. By using the site, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
1. What the site is
The site publishes general legal information about New York City law: evidence records that quote statutes and court decisions with their sources, and an Illustrative Complaint Analysis made of excerpts from existing pleadings. It is the same for every reader. It does not ask about your situation or review anything you write. The site is not affiliated with the City of New York or the courts. This deployment is the agent site. A separate public site may be published later at newyorkeverydaylawreference.com.
2. Not legal advice
The site is not legal advice, and we are not your lawyers. Using it does not create a lawyer–client relationship. It cannot tell you whether you have a claim, what to include in a court paper, or what to do in your case. For that, talk to a lawyer licensed in New York.
3. Accuracy
We try to keep the site accurate, but laws, court rules, and deadlines change, and the site may be incomplete or out of date. Records show how they were checked, and none has yet been reviewed by a New York lawyer. Check the official text, or talk to a lawyer, before you rely on any part of it.
4. Using the material
The Illustrative Complaint Analysis presents selected excerpts from existing legal pleadings for educational and document analysis purposes. The accompanying commentary explains the general function of each excerpt. These examples are not prepared for any particular person's circumstances and are not instructions or recommendations for drafting, adapting, or filing a legal document. Evidence records may be reused under the license and rules on the Acceptable use page.
5. Other websites
The site links to other websites. We are not responsible for them.
6. Privacy
The Privacy policy explains what is stored when you use the site.
7. No warranties
The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of a claim, missed deadline, court sanction, or unfavorable result, arising from your use of the site. Our total liability for all claims relating to the site is limited to one hundred dollars ($100). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
9. Changes
We may change the site or these terms, or stop publishing the site, at any time. Changes to these terms take effect when posted with a new "last updated" date.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about these terms or the site will be decided in the state or federal courts located in New York, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
11. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, the Privacy policy, and the Acceptable use page are the entire agreement between you and us about the site. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
12. Agent access
An evidence packet costs one US cent. Each checkout covers one packet. Checkout uses the Agentic Commerce Protocol
at /checkout_sessions. The FAQ describes how that checkout works. The completed
checkout returns an access token. Packet requests must send it as Authorization: Bearer. The same
packet can be read again with that token. A different packet needs its own checkout. Paying does not buy legal
advice or a lawyer–client relationship. Card numbers and the billing address are handled by Stripe, not stored
here. Stripe adds sales tax, and the receipt total is one cent plus that tax. A completed payment is final: the packet cannot be returned and the charge is not refunded. A page for one statute, case,
or proposition can still be read without that token.
